Roller Coaster

Things have been, well, crummy. Matt was laid off on March 6. Yep, totally sucks! Even though he was the top salesmen in his department, they based their decison on senority. I guess Hawthorne wants to shoot themselves in the foot, firing their top salesman. Matt took a week off to explore his options and to clear his head. He started welding with his friend Pat Burton and his dad for an ironworking company. Good pay, but physical work Matt hasn't done in awhile. He also has an opprtunity to work with my dad at his antique car restoration business. Matt is excited about both opportunities. Keep your fingers crossed that things will go up from here!!

On the positive side, Avery is now potty trained!! Woo hoo!! Could not have come at a better time!! It is so weird to think of her as my baby, than a new little sister comes along and bumps her status to the "middle sis". And now that she is in big girl panties, I feel like she is going off to college next week!!

Alexis is doing well. She is registered for Kindergarten. She is so excited!! She is becoming so much more adventurous. Dangerously adventurous. Lots of owies the last few weeks. But, live and learn!!

Anna is growing like a weed. She has discovered her voice. She sounds like a mix between a teradactyl and a cat that has been stepped on!! She has had a bout with thrush the last few weeks. YUCK!! Thrush is a yeast infection in her mouth, and let me tell you, it is not easy to get rid of! I had to resort to an herbal remedy called gentian violet. It stains her mouth (and everything else for that matter) a dark shade of purple. My sweet little baby looks like a goth baby with purple lips!! She could not be any sweeter!
